Hello!
Caroline Lalonde n’dizhnikaaz. Shipek Mikunis indigoog. Muashk indoodem. Sachigo Lake First Nation ndo nijibaa.
My name is Caroline Lalonde. My spirit name is Shipek Mikunis, which means “Feather Falling to the Ocean.” I am Bear Clan, and I am from Sachigo Lake First Nation.
I discovered beading in my youth and connected with it. I believe this was a gift passed down to me from my Great Nokom who was known for her beading in her community and beyond. I’ve been on my path toward rediscovering my culture since I was 16 and I am happy I get to share this little piece of my journey with you! Chi-meegwech.

This jewellery is inspired by cedar earrings that was given to me by an Elder who is near and dear to my heart. She gifted the earrings to me when I was in my youth, and I still have them today.
When I am feeling down or I know I am going to have a hard day, I wear them, and they help me through it.
May the medicines in these earrings help you start your day in a good way.
